I realize this more of a "club bashing" forum but if anyone is interested in a great College ID camp while the kids are out of school during summer I suggest you consider Stanford.

    http://www.stanfordsoccer.com/College_ID___Development_Camp.htm

We've been to several camps over the past couple years and this one is far and above the best one in our opinion. We just stay at Half Moon Bay while the kids are at the camp. I would also recommend the overnight option, it's more expensive but a great overall experience.

This is more of a club-bashing thread. There are many compliments and good feelings once you get away from Elk Grove.

You should post this as a new thread.

When this post started almost four years ago the 2007 birth year kids were the next to start U9 year round soccer experiment. IR has quickly grabbed the attention with two state cup winners in the 07G group, one of which went back to back.
Does this show some super power soccer club? No but it does show a change that IR has been moving towards. If you ask the families of IR they are happy with their teams. Most of the coaches are local with kids in the program. You will not find any big fancy names just good people who care about soccer.

Congrats to both 07G teams! Also nice work to the staff at IR and both coaches. Those two coaches have not had an easy path but they both continue to produce happy kids! The staff has grown since the thread started and added some nice gems. Great job to all!

Should be interesting to see how many 07 girls flock to IR in May.

Great Job to the purple team. But let's tell the truth about the second team.
IR PD team was in the next to the bottom division. Platinum 2: Platinum A, ranking them 61st out of the 83 that entered. It was only their 8 win in 23 games this year.

Yeah... the post with "2 state cup winners" is a clear misrepresentation and really against Norcal state cup social media rules and EastGroveCoach (assuming fairly he is an actual coach) should absolutely know (as the message went out to every team playing the final day. I took it at face value thinking they won the top two divisions in state cup (though that would still be incorrect). Norcal is very sensitive to this very point, someone from a club claiming to have "won state cup" when really they won the final game of some random division. For anyone's reference here is what Norcal says specifically...

"There can only be one State Cup Champion per age group. When posting on social media or your clubs' website, please make sure that your reference the correct title your team won. Beside State Champion, we are recognizing over 70 other divisions this weekend"

Linguistics can make you look great even when you are not. Does anyone NOT know that state cup has multiple brackets in each age group? Maybe you should explain state cup for us all.

Read between the lines, it's not about state cup! It never was. Trash the PD team if you want. It's about a team that was left high and dry in spring 2017 and came full circle.

State Cup brings out the freaks!

It's even better when the Gotsoccer geniuses will give 3000 points to a team who technically got 17th place and a team who got 11th gets 0. I'm sure glad tournaments don't look at those rankings. Wink wink

The coach and coach’s car from that team looks like the shady, creepy, character from the Scooby Doo cartoons.

Does anyone know why FC is allowed to use 2 BSP fields Monday thru Friday while IR only has one field on Mondays and none the rest of the week? IR teams do not have anywhere to practice when the grass fields are closed. Likely for the next two weeks

I talk to one FC in the know parent and she said that it was the president of IR that did not want turf fields during the spring.

It may be possible that no IR team is playing spring league or state cup and is a way to save money.:joyful:

Looks like Elk Grove has some competition. Here's the latest from the West Coast hype machine... who knew they were the best in the nation? Did they see the caliber of competition at Copita Surf ??? Who writes this stuff?

West Coast 05 Wildkatz win automatic Surf Cup qualifier

    March 13, 2018 WCS 939 Views

"The West Coast Soccer 05 Wildkatz girls soccer team are the #1 ranked team in the nation for championship victories. With an astonishing 207 goals in 50 competitive Gotsoccer ranked matches and an impressive 4.14 goals per game average they Wildkatz lead the nation in most goals for any competitive U13 Girls team. Wildkatz proved that they are worthy of this esteemed title as the went undefeated and shut out all opposition in the Surf Cup Qualifier Copita Surf Tournament."
