The official video company for ECNL events is StreamSports. They charge $250 for a single game, $475 for 2, $650 for 3. That seems steep but, whatever. I wanted to get a video copy of my daughter's first game as it will be a good game and my spouse isn't going to be able to make it. I went to their online ordering site to purchase a 1 game package but there is no option that allows you to specify what game you want to be recorded. All you can do is add the $250 package to your "shopping cart" and then pay. Hmmm...so before purchasing I read the "Terms and Conditions" and that's where I found in the fine print that if you purchase anything less than a 3 game package, StreamSports decides what game they videotape based on the availability of their cameramen. If you want to specify a particular game you have to pay an additional $25 convenience fee. Is it just me or does that seem ridiculous? They want me to spend $250 on a single game and they get to decide which game they are going to film? That is just nuts. Obviously, I chose not to purchase the video package. I'll be bringing our video camera and doing the best I can.

Yes it is, but no surprise in today’s youth sports world. Gotta take advantage of parents.

A few years back, companies charged about $125-150 per game but your whole team can watch so ended up 10 bucks a family which is nothing. Maybe see if your team will invest in a hi pod camera. It’s about 1500 but films from 30 feet in the air. Great investment over time.

It's too steep for one person, but our team buys the package as a team. It is included in our team fees. 3 games spread across the team is less than $40/player. I would talk to your team manager to see if that's possible.

Yes, it's become a real racket. At least StreamSports does a decent job; a couple of years ago we purchased a game for $175 and the guy filming kept losing track of where the ball was at. There was an incredible game-winning goal at the end which the guy completely missed. The company (not StreamSports) refused to give us any sort of compensation.

The team has a hi-pod but we don't take it on away games as it belongs to the club and a lot of teams use it (boys and girls).

I don't know, I can deal with the $250 but it was the whole "we chose what game to film" component that crossed the line for me.

Yes, I think that's what I'm going to do. It pains me to pay that much, especially when the company won't allow you to choose a game if you pay the exorbitant $250.

I'm feeling pretty good about the video package + highlight video I purchased at the DA summer showcase. Paid $250.00 for 3 games plus the highlight video. Touchline Video did a nice job!

As someone who spends a lot of time making videos of my sons' games, $250 for 3 games plus a highlights video sounds like a deal. Even if they spend very little time editing, you are looking at 5+ hours of work, plus travel time and overhead. These videographies companies are not getting rich.

$250 for 3 games plus highlights would be an amazing deal. However, this is $250 for a single game, no highlights. In addition, the $250 did not allow you to specify what game you wanted videotaped, that was left up to the company based on staff availability. If you wanted to guarantee a particular game to be videotaped you had to pay an additional $50. So, for a single game (no highlights) it would be $300.

Yes, I understand. That's more than I would be willing to pay under those conditions. I was responding to what Soccer4ever said about Touchline Video. I have to say, though, that taping and uploading one game, depending on the length of the game could take up to 2 hours. Then there is travel time. These guys are not getting rich.
