Will be great to see tryouts clearly in the window(s) so players know they can go try out for the programs they want.

    Deza, Ireland, and Montoya called.

They think you can get training equally as good if not better, in many other places, and with different commitment levels.

Let's givem' a break. LivingTheDream and Kickingandscreaming are just trying to sell product right now. Bodies will be needed in order for them to complete their SECOND teams at the U14 and older ages.

All three are excellent coaches. Given equal Talent and platforms I would go w Montoya.

Let’s all stop pretending we are objective. Anyone train with all 3? Anyone? Yeah, no. You favor who works for your kid and hate the guy who benches her. Just stop the promotion and talk about what you actually know. I know my kid has excelled with Deza. I’ve never criticized these other guys because I don’t know them, my kid hasn’t even dealt with them much (she has, some, but I’m not an a**hole so I haven’t even commented on that. In large part because I’m a grownup and get that her bias is because she’s comfortable with what she’s used to.)

So I love this group because it’s informative. When it tries to minimize any coach, on any level, I’m just embarrassed to admit I follow it.

I understand what you are saying... but no one on this thread has criticized any coach. If anything, just throwing pebbles at the 'you will receive the 'best' training and development' comment. You sound a bit bothered here...

I'm not taking a shot at anyone except anyone who thinks their program is the best. I have opinions about all three coaches I cited, and two would have been very poor choices for either of my kids.

My point is simply that bragging about how your coach or program is expensive and demanding, but gives you the best available is foolish. Many coaches can make the argument and one only looks clueless if one takes that angle.

And just to be clear, I'm sure the Earthquakes are putting together a great program, with terrific coaching and demanding schedules. But the competition is intense for "the best".

If you could find a club that trains on 3 full field lighted pitches 4 times a week, scrimmage boys Academy every wed, Futsal, strength/conditioning ,two/three quality coaches overlooking, injury trainer on site, drills basic technical / reading of the game and not kick ball - quality over quantity unlike most clubs

I didn't see stones thrown at any coach. Kinda touchy response to a non-controversial statement and fact: it IS possible to get great training elsewhere. I agree 'the best' is subjective for your child. Montoya's have coached mine for the last 4 years. I describe their training the same way you do about Deza's - excellent and great for my daughter and family. I haven't experienced Deza or Ireland. If Deza is working well for you, great to share the feedback, but no need to slam others for mentioning other options work for them.

    Well said.

If there are only 3 good coaches in Northern California then we're in trouble! Plenty of good coaches around. Pick what's best for your kid. Simple as that.

Earthquakes Sophie Jones also named US Soccer Woman of the Match...

    https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/20...to-open-2018-concacaf-womens-u17-championship

GK Angelina Anderson (Mustang) was captain, earned her 5th shutout with no shots against her (a bit of a slow day in the office).

Three women from NorCal clubs- Sophie Jones (Earthquakes), Angelina Anderson (Mustang) both started and played entire match, Maya Doms (Davis Legacy) is on the 20 player WQ roster but did not feature in this particular match.

Sophie has been a very good player for years. I remember when she used to play at a small club in Menlo Park(Alpine FC). Glad to see her continue being a great player. Congrats to Angelina as well. Terrific goalkeeper. Hope Maya gets a game before tournament is over.

Lot's of clubs do Futsal, have access to plenty of lighted fields, and have good training regimens. MVLA, DeAnza, and others all do that. Heck--the Stanford Soccer Club has futsal too.

Last I checked, Gary Ireland has kids on three different national teams.

I'm sure EQ is a terrific program, well worth checking out, and that you all are rightly proud of. But don't fool yourselves that no one else has that.
