Who's going to win it?
Should be a good one. I'm looking for the U12 Stars to show well, they have a very solid defense and it will be tough to score against them. Very solid tournament!
The Home team seems to be rounding into form.
One thing is for sure, it will be a great match under the lights and about 8:45 this Fri. we'll have a good idea on who will be moving to the semi's.
Bracket A winner will be West Valley Magic. Good team, good coach, and solid midfield. A good combination to win the whole tournament. Central Valley Alliance is a team that never gets blown out and is always in every game but West Valley is going to be too strong for this group.
Bracket B winner will be IR Academy. Normally I would pick COSC Red but they have not be playing the best soccer. They played each other at Cal Cup and COSC won the match but the COSC team that played at Cal Cup didn't look particularly that strong at Magic Cup. IR is playing strong and played well during State Cup so far.
Bracket C winner will be Placer. The home team is looking strong and playing well. As much as I admire the USA Stars and what they've accomplished as a team, defensively Placer may be the best team in the tournament.
Bracket D winner will be West Coast Fury. The Crossfire team has been the surprise team of the year and have come a long way. But West Coast is tough, physical, and are prepared to win this tournament. But Crossfire will give them a good game. I just came to the realization that if the 3 teams from the Valley joined up that make an exceptional team.
I will do the semi-finals when we get there. Have fun this weekend and lets all remember this is just a prediction, i may have it all wrong
Soccer mama I think you're spot on. bracket B might have the only upset to your prediction.
Can someone tell me who the stars are? I don't see them in state cup..or did I just miss them?
The USA Stars Academy is a out of the Folsom/El Dorado Hills area
I agree with SoccerMama. IMHO I don't see the upset in Bracket B. It would truly be an upset. I know that Stars members are always trying to drum up talk and interest in the USA club (great marketing) but I don't believe their team is there yet. Could it happen? Any upset can happen, that's why they call it that but with that said, I like the safe bets out there for this tourney.
So what your saying is that it would be a fluke if the Stars were to beat placer? They tied Santa Rosa at Mustang, beat West Coast at Winter Turf, Beat Clovis and IR?
I have West Valley out of A, sleeper pick Peninsula out of B, Placer out of C and West Cost out of D. With Placer and West Coast Playing in the championship with Placer winning it. Question for JakeRyan is that name from sixteen candles sorry to admit I know that but that is my wifes favorite movie?
I don't know about that one. Us Stars a good team but I do not think they can play with Placer.
Didn't say it would be a "fluke" but do I think your Stars are as good as Placer? The answer, would be no.
10 pts for getting the 80's movie reference! And I agree with the Peninsula pick out of B. My money is on Placer or maybe West Valley to win, but to my knowledge they haven't been able to close on any tournaments lately.
I love 16 Candles. Yes Jake Ryan must be from that movie. Samantha Baker, The Donger - Long Duk Dong. Amazing movie. Don't you forget about me...Love that song!!! I also could very well see Peninsula also. I watched them play against USA Stars at Santa Clara Sporting. They are a nice sleeper pick.
Uh, Dodgers fan here to bail you out. "If you were here..." ~ Thompson Twins
Thank you Dodger fan! That was the Breakfast Club confusing my Molly Ringwald movies.
Always happy to help out the Giants... like taking Brian Wilson off your hands.
I'll go COSC in Group B, with a Placer-West Valley final. In Premier, I'll go Pajaro-BOCA final.
This morning in the pouring down rain, I saw the San Juan Blue team play and they seemed to have improved a ton over the last year. Maybe they should have been in the top group? Mill Valley seems to be the surprise team so far defeating the home team Placer.
