Has been updated. Northern California link is here: http://lastplanetranking.blogspot.com/2013/11/can-g01-ratings.html.

NorCal almost had its 2d team move into the Top 10 for CA (Mustang Legends sitting at #11) and it looks like there has been some reordering in the Top 10 in Northern California.

Whether there is "importance" in this is debatable (and we have been debating it w/in other threads) but it is really interesting from a statistical standpoint and to see how our teams compare to the Southern California powers. Hopefully with 5 teams heading down to Surf (Stars (#1), Legends (#2), MVLA (#4 but dealing with injuries), FCEG (#6) and Juventus (#8)), NorCal can make some inroads (based on my understanding of the algorithm (which is very surface level at best), a good showing benefits all common opponents so much of the NorCal list).

Well, it is an algorithm so unless the guy doing the work knows that a team has dropped out, he has no way of adjusting.

I know about Loomis being no more but it's difficult to simply remove them from the rankings. We have it set up to filter out any team that hasn't played for 3 months so they will drop out soon enough. Which "Strikers" team are you referencing?

Slight changes in the last month - and Northern California gets its 2d team in California's overall Top 10 (Mustang Legends).

Sure to see some changes over the next 6 weeks as many of these teams match up in various summertime tournaments.

If teams with no activity for 3 months drop off the list, shouldn't the Stars drop from the 1 spot soon?

I think they are playing this weekend in Davis Legacy Showcase also. The seem to play regularly enough and against tough enough competition to keep their ranking up and alive.

Why would the Stars drop in rankings when they won both the tournaments they played in so far this season? That doesn't make any sense.

Also, the Stars are one of the only top 01/02 girls teams that actually takes a long planned off season. Should they drop in the rankings for that??

    Lastplanet rankings have been updated

    http://lastplanetranking.blogspot.com/2013/11/can-g01-ratings.html

Note: Loomis is still showing up in the rankings. We forgot to change the cutoff period for "time since last game played" from 6 months to 3 months now that we're in the "active" part of the year. They'll be gone next time 'round. Vacations coming up also so next site update won't be until late August.

Dk_b. Stars will gladly play any top 5 Norcal team (including Mustang) in a weekend Sat or Sun double header (after Surf and Mustang Stampede). 2 full games, no guest players. I have a perfect turf field for almost any Sunday.

Tri-S: you know I'd want to see that. And you know (I hope you know) that I respect what they have done - I can acknowledge both sides of the Stars Discussion. Let me see if I can help make it happen . . . home-and-home on the 16th and 17th? Look for a private message.

Make it happen, sell tickets and winner takes proceeds. Call it a club fundraiser for the winner.
