    Thanks. The games against Force always felt like a battle even if the score didn't seem close, except for the 6-1 game. We will miss that rivalry. I like your idea about the open event with all the best teams. That would be awesome, but too bad it will be impossible because of all the USSDA restrictions.

    I don't know the exact methodology youthsoccer uses to rank teams, but having seen many games in person against and between all of the teams I listed above, I'd prefer to stick with my rankings.
    We played the Placer 04s last week. We were supposed to play one of their 03 teams, but they sent their 04 team instead. They might have had an off game, but the score the score was 7-0 and could've been much worse. I'll take any of San Juan, Mustang and Santa Rosa over either Placer or PSV any day.

    Some new Coaches are using Spring league to move girls around and try new things while others already have girls glued into their positions. I wouldn't give to much merit to Spring league unless you losing all the time..lol

    Agree. Throw in the move to the big field and it will take some time before results are more consistent. What's the feeling you are getting about DA for Placer? Is that something the families appear excited about?

    Stang,

    I agree 100%. Moving players around is smart by your coach. Given girls the opportunity to play other positions. Hope your daughter is killing it out there.

    Spot on. This along with going to the big field is why I always laugh when some parents put lots of stock into spring results. See where the team is come next spring, then you'll have a good idea where they really are.

    Yes, I heard that NorCal is planning to restrict next year's tryouts until May 2018? Hopefully, that will eliminate any disruption to teams until end of State Cup. Should be a very fun season to watch.

    On paper yes. I believe window will be Mid May or Mid June or something similar. If you move during a different time, there is a sit out period. Curious to hear how many games that is.

    I believe you would have to sit out 4 games.

    I guess it all depends on if your team has played up or played 11v11 in previous seasons. If so then the team is already familiar with the big field going into the spring season so coaches have a good idea on the players development.

    Spring season is almost done. Looks like the following teams will be going to cross-regional playoffs on June 3rd:
    * FORCE NORTH 05G I
    * ALMADEN FC QUICKSILVER 05G GREEN
    * WEST COAST SOCCER WILD KATZ 05
    * MUSTANG SC 05G ELITE
    * DAVIS LEGACY 05 RED
    * BLUES FC 05G NAVY

    Congrats if you have a kid in any of the above teams.

    If MVLA wins their last game this coming weekend, then they'll bump out PLEASANTON RAGE 05 ELITE I in Region 3/4/5.

    If STOCKTON STORM FC ACADEMY 05 EARTHQUAKES wins or draws for their last game, then they'll bump out AJAX UNITED 05G BLACK in Region 8.

    Cross-regional schedule is at http://events.gotsport.com/events/schedule.aspx?EventID=58081&GroupID=647053&Gender=Girls&Age=12.

    Actually, STOCKTON STORM FC ACADEMY 05 EARTHQUAKES already earned their #1 spot in Region. So, the only spot remaining is for MVLA take with a win. Personally, I would rather see or play against them (instead of RAGE) in cross-regionals cuz they had rough start during spring league but seems to have iron out the kinks.

    Another observation is that AJAX Green team has slipped a bit with their loss of players. I wouldn't have expected their team last year, if intact, to finish behind Davis and Blues.

    Yes congrats to the teams moving onto the cross regionals. Great event that showcases talent from all over NorCA. Opportunity for teams to test themselves before heading into State Cup season.

    Summer tournament season will come much sooner than State Cup. Looks like MVLA 05G Blue did indeed win their last game to earn a spot in Cross-Regionals. Congrats.

    Without Placer and Force in the mix, I'd say that West Coast is the obvious favorite to come out on top.

    Will Placer Gold 05G go undefeated in NorCal this season?

    Seems like a stretch but they're very good and seem to have the pieces needed to finish on top. All things being equal, I think De Anza will be the biggest threat.

    I'd love to see Placer vs. West Coast. WC is for real. Maybe it will happen down at Surf. NorCal is heavily represented.

    We'll see on July 14th. Placer and W/C are in the same bracket at Davis.

    I think De Anza might be hurting a bit from losing players (from Rise and Fall thread):
    I heard 3-4 more starting 2005 girls from De Anza moved to Quakes.
    Also at least 1 2005 De Anza moved to MVLA Blue 2005
